For example, rather than teaching students to blindly distribute 2(3x-5), we first ensure they understand multiplication's definition: "Add (3x-5) itself twice." This becomes (3x-5)+(3x-5) = 3x+3x-5-5 = 2×3x - 2×5 = 6x-10. Only after this conceptual mastery do we train for computational speed.

Step 2: Logical Development
